TXSEF Code of Conduct

All students, parents/guardians, teachers, volunteers, judges, and staff attending the Texas Science and Engineering Fair (TXSEF) are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful, professional, and responsible manner throughout the duration of the weekend’s events.

Attendance at TXSEF constitutes agreement to abide by the following expectations:

Expectations

  • Comply with all TXSEF rules, policies, procedures, deadlines, and directives from event officials.
  • Treat all students, judges, volunteers, staff, and fellow attendees with courtesy, integrity, and respect.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and good sportsmanship at all times.
  • Follow all venue policies, safety requirements, and display & safety regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate conduct in all event spaces, including judging areas, public events, and ceremonies.
  • Refrain from disruptive behavior, harassment, intimidation, inappropriate language, or unsportsmanlike conduct.
  • Direct questions, concerns, or disputes to designated TXSEF officials rather than confronting judges, volunteers, or other participants.
  • Ensure appropriate supervision of students at all times unless otherwise specified by TXSEF.

Enforcement

TXSEF reserves the right to address violations of this Code of Conduct at its sole discretion. Consequences may include, but are not limited to:

  • Being escorted out by TXSEF officials and/or venue security.
  • Disqualification, dismissal, or other action affecting any student project associated with the violation.

TXSEF reserves the right to determine whether conduct violates these standards and to take any action deemed necessary to preserve the safety, fairness, integrity, and professionalism of the event.
